If you like spacious sites under tall pine trees, then Skidaway island is for you. The park is beautifully laid out in the forest and is only 20 minutes from downtown Savannah. Download from the website instructions to find the park but plan to arrive in daylight, as it would be hard to find after dark. Even in October it was almost full.

Excellent location 3 miles from middle of Skyline Drive. Shady, gravel topped pitches, but on-site facilities past their best. Overpriced for standard of what is on offer (Water, electricity, extra persons above two, all charged extra on base price - there were 4 of us)

All sites laid out in forest. Well dispersed, offering good privacy and shade. Beaches and Wilmington 15-30 minutes drive. Excellent well-run site, if you do not demand hook-ups

Excellent, very professionally run site in the forest; quiet location and everything works well. Level, hard-top pitches in rows. Thoroughly to be recommended, for visiting Washington or Northern Virginia.
